The excellence awards went to Manager Kwon Dae-yeol of the Heat Treatment Department, who developed a ‘Smart Equipment Management System to Enhance Worker Safety,’ and Manager Jo Dae-in of the Rolling Equipment Department 2, who developed a ‘Real-time Worker Detection System Using Unmanned Mobile Devices.’
Furthermore, in the metaverse space, not only was a presentation hall created but also a ‘New Technology Seminar & Best Practices Viewing Center,’ making this competition a meaningful platform for sharing technology insights on smart technologies with executives and employees.
Lee Jin-su, Director of Gwangyang Steelworks, said, “As smart technologies such as AI, IoT, and Robots become commonplace and super-large AI begins to replace even human creative tasks, technology is rapidly advancing, making the importance of securing smart technology competitiveness increasingly critical. Through this competition, I hope we will take the lead in creating a better world by going beyond realizing a smart steelworks to creating green steel.”
