Jeongeup-si Accepts Nominations for Citizen Awards Until the 31st

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk Province is accepting nominations for the ‘Jeongeup Citizen’s Award’ until the 31st of this month.

According to the city on the 2nd, the ‘Jeongeup Citizen’s Award’ is the highest honor awarded in the name of the citizens of Jeongeup, given annually to recognize unsung contributors.

The award categories include ▲Culture and Sports Award ▲Hometown Service Award ▲Agricultural Industry and Economy Award ▲Filial Piety and Good Deeds Award ▲Honorary Citizen Award, totaling five categories.

Eligibility requires clear contributions to the development of city administration and residency in Jeongeup for more than three years.

However, the residency requirement is waived for the Hometown Service Award and the Honorary Citizen Award.

Those eligible to nominate include heads of institutions at the city level, leaders of social organizations, school principals, company representatives, heads of hometown associations, and heads of eup, myeon, dong offices, as well as heads of departments and divisions.

The submission period is until 6 p.m. on the 31st, and completed documents should be submitted to the General Affairs Division of City Hall, or to each eup, myeon office, or dong community center.

However, candidates who have been nominated for three consecutive years without being selected will be restricted from nomination for two years starting the following year.

The city will conduct a strict review of the nominees and select winners in each category, with awards to be presented at the 2023 Jeongeup Citizen’s Day ceremony.
