Geumcheon-gu Selects 74 Scholarship Students from Elementary, Middle, and High Schools... Applications Accepted Until the 1st of Next Month

Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 2nd that the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Park Junsik) will select scholarship students for 2023 targeting elementary, middle, and high school students residing in the district.
The scholarship students will be selected in two categories: the "17th Regular Scholarship Students," totaling 74 students, and the "Challenge! Global Exploration Team." Regular scholarship students will receive 1 million KRW or 1.5 million KRW per person depending on the selection category (if a group receives the scholarship in the special talent category, it will be 2 million KRW). The selection categories include ▲Academic Excellence ▲Academic Improvement ▲Special Talents (arts, sports, science, etc.) ▲Good Deeds ▲Multicultural ▲Self-Directed Dream Fulfillment, totaling six categories. The total scholarship fund amounts to 109.5 million KRW.
The "Challenge! Global Exploration Team" is an overseas training program designed to help youth gain diverse international experience and grow as future leaders. Geumcheon-gu plans to support selected students with up to 3.5 million KRW per person for participation costs. A total of 12 students will be selected in two fields: ▲Participation in the United Nations International School Conference in New York ▲Exciting Career Exploration (visiting prestigious European universities and cultural-historical sites).
The application period is from August 23 to September 1. Applicants must submit the application form and category-specific documents to the Education Support Division on the 10th floor of the district office. Application forms can be downloaded from the Geumcheon-gu Office website under "Notices" or from the scholarship foundation website under "Announcements."

Since its establishment in November 2007 to foster local talent and promote educational development, Geumcheon-gu has awarded scholarships totaling approximately 2.2 billion KRW to 1,610 students.
