Selection of Participants through Cognitive and Depression Screening for Residents Aged 60 and Over in Jungnang-gu
Applications Accepted by Phone or Visit at Designated Korean Medicine Clinics from August 7 to 11, First-Come, First-Served Basis
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is launching the ‘Traditional Korean Medicine Health Promotion Project for Seniors’ to improve cognitive function and promote health among local elderly residents.
The ‘Traditional Korean Medicine Health Promotion Project for Seniors’ provides health promotion programs and traditional Korean medicine health management services to seniors, aiming to prevent dementia and depression and reduce medical expenses.
The target participants are residents of Jungnang-gu aged 60 and over, with a total of 95 people recruited on a first-come, first-served basis.
Residents wishing to participate can apply by visiting or calling designated Korean medicine clinics in Jungnang-gu from August 7 to 11, followed by cognitive function and depression screening tests. Based on the test results, 30 participants will be selected as the normal group and 65 as the dementia risk group. Once selected, they can receive customized programs free of charge.
This year, the program will be divided into health center type and Korean medicine clinic type. At the health center, the normal group seniors will participate in health promotion programs such as ▲dementia prevention education and ▲cognitive exercise. At the designated Korean medicine clinics, the dementia risk group seniors will receive ▲consultations with Korean medicine doctors, ▲cognitive acupuncture treatments, and ▲prescriptions of herbal medicine.
