Yeongdeok-gun Holds Report Meeting on Securing Next Year's National and Provincial Budget ... Full Effort to Secure Funds
101 National and Provincial Subsidy Projects Applied for 518.6 Billion KRW
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the "Status Report Meeting on Securing National and Provincial Subsidy Project Budgets" on July 28 in the county office's large conference room to review the strategies and plans proactively established to secure national and provincial funds.

View original imageThe meeting was attended by Kim Dong-hee, Deputy Governor of Yeongdeok, along with heads of various departments and project team leaders. They comprehensively reviewed the progress of key projects with a total budget exceeding 500 million KRW, which were discussed during the two "2024 National and Provincial Subsidy Project Proposal Meetings" held in February and March.
Accordingly, Yeongdeok-gun assessed the progress of key projects for securing national and provincial funds as normal, delayed, or unselected. Based on these results, Governor Kim Kwang-yeol and Deputy Governor Kim divided their roles to visit central government ministries, members of the National Assembly, or Gyeongsangbuk-do to propose these projects, exploring various response strategies.
The scale of the proposed projects decided through the meeting amounts to 101 projects totaling 518.6 billion KRW, of which 89 projects worth 489.4 billion KRW are directly implemented by Yeongdeok-gun through public contests and other means.
Among the major projects, those directly implemented by the national government include: ▲ Construction of the Pohang?Yeongdeok Expressway (285.2 billion KRW) ▲ Electrification of the Donghae Line railway (34.4 billion KRW) ▲ Construction of the Uiseong?Yeongdeok railway connecting the new airport (13.5 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of the Deep Sea Marine Bio Bank (200 million KRW) ▲ Creation of the Whale Sea Shelter (200 million KRW) ▲ Construction of the National Marine Species Restoration Center (11.2 billion KRW). Projects implemented by the county with national and provincial funds include: ▲ New construction of the Senior Welfare Center (2 billion KRW) ▲ Five wellness tourism projects including the Gwanaedae Unique Scenery project (3 billion KRW) ▲ Fisheries Village New Vitality Project (12.7 billion KRW) ▲ Five flood control and disaster risk improvement projects in the Byeonggok district (26.3 billion KRW) ▲ Urban flood prevention projects (13.6 billion KRW), among others.
Yeongdeok-gun plans to focus administrative efforts on securing national funds by September 2, when the Ministry of Economy and Finance must review government department budgets and submit the budget proposal to the National Assembly, according to the government budget schedule.
