A "Gwangyang Mandeulteo" Where Citizens Can Feel Safe
Choi Byung-yoon (photo), head of the Public Safety Information and Foreign Affairs Division at the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency, has been appointed as the 83rd chief of the Gwangyang Police Station.
The inauguration ceremony on the 31st began with a visit to the Chung Honbi Memorial in Yeongse Park, Gwangyang-eup, followed by the inauguration event attended by heads of departments, divisions, and teams, a meeting with heads of cooperative organizations, and visits to various departments.
In his inaugural address, Chief Choi said, “It is a great joy and a heavy responsibility to serve as the person in charge of public safety in Gwangyang, a place known for the beautiful Baegunsan Mountain and Seomjin River, and a hub of economic, industrial, and logistics activities. I will create a safe Gwangyang where citizens can feel secure through fair and strict law enforcement, and build a warm Gwangyang Police that reaches out to the socially vulnerable.”
Chief Choi is a native of Suncheon, graduated from Maesan High School in Suncheon, and holds a master's degree from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Chonnam National University. He has served as head of the Planning, Information, and Equipment Division at the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency, chief of the Suncheon Police Station, and head of the Public Safety Information and Foreign Affairs Division at the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency.
