"Pursuing Business in a Sustainable Way"
LG Energy Solution announced on the 31st the release of its ESG report, which contains the ESG management activities and achievements for the year 2022.
In this ESG report, LG Energy Solution disclosed various achievements including ▲achieving a 56% company-wide transition rate to renewable energy-based power ▲achieving a 97% recycling rate of electrode material solvents ▲joining FCA (Fair Cobalt Alliance) for the first time in Korea ▲obtaining the safety and health management system certification (ISO 45001) for production and research & development (R&D) sites ▲obtaining the 'Great Place to Work' certification in the United States.
As part of its ESG management, LG Energy Solution supports the project to save the endangered second-class wild species 'Mooljanggun' (water scorpion). This signifies the company’s commitment to pursuing business in a sustainable way that does not harm global biodiversity.
Following last year, LG Energy Solution released about 130 Mooljanggun near the wetland adjacent to the Ochang Energy Plant in Cheongju City, Chungbuk Province, in July this year, in collaboration with Cheongju City and the Geumgang River Basin Environmental Office.
An LG Energy Solution official stated, "We plan to observe the natural reproduction and population of Mooljanggun and work hard to restore its habitat," adding, "We will continue to collaborate with local environmental offices, local governments, and community residents to identify and conserve biodiversity issues near our business sites and in the local community."
