'Pre-Order Explosion' Mercedes-Benz GLC Fully Redesigned Model, Customer Delivery Begins

"Pre-Orders Exceeding This Year's Sales Plan"

Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 28th that it has started customer deliveries of the completely redesigned 3rd generation GLC mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) from this month.

Since its debut in 2015, the GLC has sold 2.6 million units worldwide, making it the best-selling model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. In Korea, approximately 25,000 units have been sold cumulatively.

The vehicle was first unveiled globally in May last year, and pre-orders began domestically last month. According to Mercedes-Benz, the number of pre-orders has exceeded this year’s sales plan.

The GLC body is up to 55mm longer compared to the previous generation based on domestic certification standards. The side design features emphasized wheel arches with a sleek design, resulting in an improved drag coefficient of 0.29Cd, which is 0.02Cd better than the previous generation.

The wheelbase has increased by 15mm compared to the previous generation, providing more spacious interior space. The trunk capacity has also increased by 70 liters, allowing up to 620 liters of cargo space when the second-row seats are folded down.

The GLC is available in two trims with 4-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines, both equipped with a mild hybrid system combined with a 48V electrical system.

Additionally, features such as the transparent hood function (which displays the area beneath the front of the vehicle on the central display), Driving Assistance Package Plus, and Digital Light are included as standard equipment. The Winter Package, which provides heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a heated windshield washer system, is also included as standard. The gasoline engine trim comes standard with the Burmester surround sound system.
