Dongseo University Student Team Wins Grand Prize at 'ESG Content Ideathon'
A team of current students from Dongseo University recently won the grand prize at the ‘2023 ESG Content Ideathon’ held in Jung-gu, Seoul, and Dongguk University.
The 2023 ESG Content Ideathon was hosted by the Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation of Korea, and eight universities belonging to the ESG University Alliance, and was organized by Dongguk University, Jung-gu Social Economy Support Center, and Jung-gu Printing Solidarity (Raon Group Social Cooperative).
The ESG University Alliance includes the LINC 3.0 project groups of eight universities: Gyeongnam University, Keimyung University, Daejeon University, Dongguk University, Dongseo University, Jeju University, Hallym University, and Honam University.
The ESG University Alliance, which hosted the event, is a nationwide LINC 3.0 project group council newly launched in 2022 by the Regional Community Contribution Research Association to promote industry-academia-research cooperation related to ESG.
Since 2017, the alliance has continuously carried out ESG-based regional community contribution activities such as nine Capstone Design Fairs linked to community contribution and ESG, six ideathons, and 30 research seminars.
This event was planned as one of the pilot projects to expand the inflow channels of industrial manpower in the printing industry sector in downtown Jung-gu, Seoul, through collaboration among universities, industrial networks, and local governments, by soliciting printing content ideas and enabling the selected ideas to be commercialized.

The Eulji Light team included Kim Ryeowon and Heo Yujin from the Department of Digital Media Design, and Kim Sohyun from the Department of Broadcasting and Video.
Hwang Gihyun, head of Dongseo University’s LINC 3.0 project and the Shared Collaboration Center, said, “By holding the ESG Content Ideathon in cooperation with local governments, it was meaningful to provide participating students with opportunities to understand the current status of the local community and to come up with ESG-related ideas, as well as to discover talent interested in local industries.”
