Jeonnam National University Students Volunteer for Flood Recovery During National Land March
Students from Chonnam National University volunteered to help restore farms that suffered significant damage due to recent heavy rains during their National March.
On the second day of the National March, the 26th, Chonnam National University students, in collaboration with the NongHyup Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters, worked hard to restore flood damage in the Munpyeong-myeon area of Naju City. Their efforts included weeding soybean fields, removing crops inside greenhouses rendered unusable by flooding, and organizing agricultural machinery.
Kim Min-seo, a student in the Department of English Education, said, “Seeing the elderly express gratitude for the flood recovery work made me realize the value of ‘together’ once again. I want to continue activities that extend a helping hand wherever our support is needed.”
The farmers who received assistance with recovery expressed, “The heavy rain flooded the greenhouses and devastated our farming sites, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. We are extremely grateful that the Chonnam National University students came to help with the labor.”
