Samsung SDS Q2 Operating Profit 206.4 Billion KRW... Down 23.6% YoY
Samsung SDS announced on the 27th that its provisional sales for the second quarter reached 3.2908 trillion KRW, with an operating profit of 206.4 billion KRW. These figures represent a decrease of 28.4% and 23.6%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Sales in the IT services sector decreased slightly by 0.02% year-on-year to 1.5107 trillion KRW. On the other hand, the cloud business grew by 63%, achieving a record quarterly sales of 444.5 billion KRW.
The Cloud Service Provider (CSP) business based on the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP) grew by 38%, driven by the expansion of overseas services and increased sales in High-Performance Computing (HPC) cloud. The Managed Service Provider (MSP) business saw a 148% increase, supported by higher external sales in the finance and service sectors and winning the Korea Customs Service cloud transition project.
Samsung SDS plans to continue promoting cloud transition and application modernization projects, focusing on the distribution & service, finance, and public sectors to expand its cloud business.
They are also preparing enterprise-specific generative artificial intelligence (AI) services. The plan is to provide generative AI that allows corporate data to be used freely and securely, based on accumulated AI technology and industry expertise, addressing concerns of corporate clients about core data leakage.

Additionally, the logistics platform Cello Square, which has been launched in 13 countries including China, Southeast Asia, the United States, and Europe, will be expanded to the Middle East and South Asia, emerging as new manufacturing supply chains.
