6th Anniversary of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups... Lee Young "Please Look Forward to the Future"
"Time to Decide if Growth Momentum Can Be Sustained"
Reviewing Achievements Over the Past Year
On the 26th, marking the 6th anniversary of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) launch, Minister Lee Young of MSS shared his reflections, saying, "Please look forward to the future of MSS."
On the same day, through his personal Facebook, Minister Lee stated, "Until the day when SMEs, venture companies, and small business owners take charge of over 50% of our economy, the advancing MSS will lead the way."
He continued, "Tomorrow marks the beginning of the '7th year,'" emphasizing, "If compared to a company, this period is after the startup phase and is the time to decide whether it can gain growth momentum."
Minister Lee also said, "MSS will demonstrate the spirit of challenge and innovation like innovative companies to support SMEs and venture companies to dominate the global market, and proactively respond to the 4th Industrial Revolution and the digital economy to create new growth engines. We will also nurture competitive small business owners and strive for digital transformation."
He added, "This small giant, just turning seven years old, will stand shoulder to shoulder with ministries that have over 70 years of history, united with about 7 million SMEs, venture companies, and small business owners, to create new value called 'A Happy Korea Growing Together.'"
Minister Lee also reflected on the past year. He explained, "Over the past year, we newly introduced the 'Core Mission System' across headquarters, regional offices, and affiliated public institutions to share vision and mission, and pushed policies together as one team. As a result of these efforts, we have achieved various accomplishments in promoting 'nurturing and globalization' beyond recovery after COVID-19, including the long-standing demands of SMEs and venture companies such as the legalization of the 'linked payment system for supply prices' and 'multiple voting rights,' the achievement of 3 trillion KRW in sales at the 'Korea Together Festival,' the warm miracle created together in the 'Itaewon Revival Project,' the 1000+ ultra-gap startups, unknown export warriors, and fostering entrepreneurial small business owners."
