A firefighter and nurse couple visiting Jeju Island for summer vacation became a topic of conversation after they rescued and treated a person who had fallen into the water without hesitation.
According to the fire department on the 26th, around 2 p.m. on the 25th, a man in his 20s, Mr. A, who was playing in the water at Panpopo Port in Jeju City, fell into the water and lost consciousness.
Firefighter Lee Hyerin (37), who had come to the location to enjoy summer vacation with her family, immediately jumped in upon seeing Mr. A and, together with a lifeguard, moved Mr. A out of the water.
However, Mr. A was in a state of cardiac arrest without consciousness.
Mrs. Kang Hansol (38), Lee’s wife, checked Mr. A’s condition, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and administered emergency treatment using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Fortunately, Mr. A soon regained consciousness. Mrs. Kang is said to be a veteran nurse working at the National Health Insurance Service Eumseong Branch.
