Line 1 and KTX Train Operations Resume... Fatal Accident on the Tracks Occurs (Comprehensive)
On the 26th, a fatal accident occurred on the tracks between Yeongdeungpo Station and Geumcheon-gu Office Station on the Gyeongbu Line in Seoul, causing a temporary suspension and delay of operations for the Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 1 and KTX trains, which have since resumed.
According to Korail, at around 5:30 a.m. that day, an unidentified man who had trespassed onto the tracks between Yeongdeungpo Station and Geumcheon-gu Office Station was struck and killed by a Gyeongbu Line KTX train traveling between Seoul and Busan.
Due to this accident, the operation of trains using the affected section, including KTX, Mugunghwa-ho, regular trains, and electric trains, was temporarily suspended and then resumed. The Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 1 suspended the operation of express electric trains between Yongsan Station and Guro Station, as well as shuttle electric trains between Gwangmyeong Station and Yeongdeungpo Station.
The train involved in the accident resumed operation at around 7:42 a.m. after the situation was handled.

Korail stated, "After the accident occurred, we requested dispatch of fire and funeral services," and added, "We are currently compiling the status of trains affected by the disruption."
