Gwangyang Night View City Tour Runs Regularly on Weekends (Fri-Sun) in August
Departure at 3 PM from Suncheonman Garden, Boarding Without Reservation
Weekday Group Course Available for 15 or More People
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that, following July, it will continue to operate the Gwangyang Night View City Tour every weekend (Friday to Sunday) at 3 PM without reservations at Suncheon Bay National Garden in August.
The Night View City Tour departs from Suncheon Bay National Garden (3 PM) and Gwangyang-eup Bus Terminal (3:30 PM), where participants enjoy romance at the Gwangyang Wine Cave before having dinner at the Yi Sun-sin Bridge Food Town.
Next, the tour visits the Yi Sun-sin Bridge, Sunshine Beach Park, the softly illuminated Gwangyang Bay night view, Baealdo Island Garden, the preserved house of Jeong Byeong-wook, who safeguarded the posthumous works of Yun Dong-ju, and concludes at Gwangyang-eup Bus Terminal (9 PM) and Suncheon Bay National Garden (9:30 PM).
The newly added Baealdo Island Garden in the August night course is expected to offer a romantic midsummer night experience along with the recently lit Byeolhae Bridge and Haemaji Bridge’s beautiful scenery.
On Wednesdays, a historical course is available that offers a glimpse into Gwangyang’s spirit and culture, operating based on the theme that first meets the reservation status and operational requirements between the night view and history tours.
The historical course departs from Suncheon Station (10:10 AM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (10:45 AM), exploring Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, Gwangyang Art Warehouse, Inseori Park, Gwangyang History and Culture Center, Gwangyang Jangdo Museum, and Gwangyang Archery Training Center, passing through Gwangyang-eup Terminal (5:05 PM) and arriving at Suncheon Station (5:40 PM).
Additionally, group tours for 15 or more people can take a private tour on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with a flexible course, provided they meet requirements such as visiting at least four tourist sites, having at least one meal, and scheduling for more than five hours.
The weekend night view course allows immediate boarding without reservations, but other tours operate only when five or more people make reservations at least three days in advance. Groups must reserve at least seven days prior.
The fees are 5,000 KRW for general admission, 4,000 KRW for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 3,000 KRW for persons with disabilities and preschool children. Entrance fees, travel insurance, and meal costs are separate.
Jung Gu-young, Director of Tourism, said, “Encouraged by the positive response to the weekend Gwangyang Night View City Tour that allows boarding without reservations, we have decided to continue operating the tour on weekends in August.”
He added, “Since the August course includes the fantastic night views of Byeolhae Bridge and Haemaji Bridge connecting Baealdo Island Garden, we hope for much interest and participation.”
