However, according to the survey on "citizens' awareness and demands for lifelong learning," the projects that Goseong-gun should focus on are ▲development and operation of diverse lifelong education programs (36.8%) ▲expansion of lifelong education budget (19.7%) ▲strengthening lifelong education organizations and increasing professional personnel (13.7%), and these demands have been reflected in the establishment of a roadmap.
To this end, the county plans to continuously operate enjoyable and diverse lifelong learning programs so that citizens can participate in "desired programs at desired locations," as well as promote 27 tasks across 6 fields to strengthen local human resource capabilities, create jobs, and share and spread lifelong learning achievements.
This year, with the designation as a lifelong learning city, the county is promoting the lifelong learning city creation project with a total budget of 570 million KRW, including 90 million KRW in national subsidies and 15 million KRW in provincial funds from the Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Institute’s specialized projects. It is also making every effort to secure local extinction response funds to establish the Goseong-type worker dormitory "Go Workstay," a healing complex space called Goseong Sumteo, and to designate a lifelong learning center.
In addition, the county is actively participating in various public contests to revitalize lifelong education, contributing to the formation of a lifelong learning foundation in Goseong-gun.
County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, "I was not in a position to enter a regular university, so I studied through the Open University," and added, "As someone who empathizes with the value and necessity of lifelong education more than anyone else, I will devote myself to implementing 27 tasks across 6 fields to realize a lifelong learning city where work and life are connected."
