Seung Jaehyun: "The Sillim-dong Perpetrator, a Decalcomania with 'Jeong Yujeong'"
Ph.D. from the Institute of Criminal Law and Policy Research, CBS Radio Interview
Near Sillim Station, a stabbing incident occurred resulting in 1 death and 3 serious injuries. In this context, Detective and Legal Policy Researcher Seung Jae-hyun analyzed that the perpetrator, Jo Mo, is similar to Jeong Yoo-jeong, the culprit of the 'peer murder'.
On the 24th, on CBS's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' Dr. Seung said, "There was accumulated personal anger towards peers. If Jeong Yoo-jeong's anger was directed at those who had what she did not, Jo Mo's crime was also created by personal anger, inferiority, rage, envy, and jealousy towards what he did not have.
This means that one of the factors leading to the crime was personal anger over not having as much as his peers, showing similarity between the two perpetrators.
He also explained, "Jeong Yoo-jeong prepared her crime perfectly and brought a weapon, committing excessive killing. This case is the same. It is clearly excessive killing, and the attack was purposefully prepared and executed, with the perpetrator intentionally delivering the final attack that caused the victim's death.
He pointed out that both perpetrators were excessively calm after committing their crimes. He said, "Jeong Yoo-jeong carrying her suitcase and walking with a tapping sound was chillingly eerie, and this case is exactly the same.
He added, "(The Sillim-dong perpetrator) speaks very clearly to the reporters. He speaks clearly and even sighs while explaining his grievances to the public.
He also noted that both perpetrators lacked a 'purpose-driven life.' He said, "Since this is a personal matter, I was hesitant to speak, but Jeong Yoo-jeong also lacked a purpose-driven life. She just lived with her grandmother and grandfather. Jo Mo is in the same situation now.

Dr. Seung stated, "I believe there is no such thing as a 'random crime.' The state just has not found the motive." He added, "If we identify these commonalities, we can understand how to socially support and find these people. Therefore, I think the state needs to manage young people in this area more actively or gather more information about them.
