Police Summon LG Lee Cheon-woong for 'Illegal Gambling' Investigation... Specifics on Frequency and Amount
The police summoned and investigated Lee Cheon-woong, a player of the LG Twins, who is suspected of illegal internet gambling.
According to the police on the 21st, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul summoned Lee, who is accused of gambling and other charges, the day before and identified the number of gambling instances and amounts involved. The police plan to send Lee to the prosecution as early as next week.
It was confirmed that Lee used accounts under other people's names when engaging in internet gambling.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) received a tip in March that "a player from a metropolitan area team was involved in illegal internet gambling" and requested an investigation into Lee.

Lee, who initially denied the charges, admitted to them and turned himself in to the team in April. When the controversy arose, the LG Twins removed Lee from the first-team roster that same month and posted an apology on the team's official website.
