Hyosung's Cho Hyun-joon Criticizes Executives and Team Leaders for "Lack of Willingness to Solve Problems"
Emphasizing Management Crisis Tension Through Email
Cho Hyun-joon, Chairman of the Hyosung Group, urged executives and team leaders to "strengthen responsible management."
Chairman Cho sent an email stating "There is a widespread attitude of avoiding responsibility by not honestly admitting one's mistakes," and "while expressing remorse outwardly, they only say they will do better from now on instead of presenting concrete solutions," he strongly criticized.
Recently, Hyosung has been experiencing a decline in performance due to the global recession and other factors. Chairman Cho's email emphasized the urgency of the management crisis.
In the email, Chairman Cho pointed out, "Despite the worsening business conditions, there is a lack of awareness of the crisis, insufficient preparation and proactive response to changes in the market environment and increased threats from competitors, and a lack of determination to solve problems. The improvement plans for the deteriorating profits are neither concrete nor clearly feasible."
He continued, "If the performance falls short of the initial goals, it is essential to thoroughly reflect on what obstacles are preventing achievement, deeply investigate the root causes of setbacks, and objectively analyze them in order to devise and implement specific solutions."
Chairman Cho urged, "Through a reform of consciousness, we must correct wrong practices, build a responsible organizational culture, enhance execution capabilities, and achieve results from planned tasks to meet management goals."
