Content Startup 'Battlefield' Aiming for Global Expansion
콘진원 'StartupCon' Pitching Program
"Inviting Numerous Overseas Investors... Building a Global Network"
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency are recruiting companies to participate in 'Battlefield' until the 10th of next month. It is a pitching program called 'StartupCon.' Content startups that have been established for less than seven years gather to compete for global expansion.
The Korea Creative Content Agency selects three teams through preliminary rounds (twenty teams), semifinals (ten teams), and finals. The finals take place at StartupCon. Prior to this, an online public vote in the form of a mock crowdfunding is conducted to award additional points. All teams that pass the semifinals receive support for IR Deck production, investment capability enhancement training, and one-on-one pitching skill consulting. The grand prize winner receives 50 million KRW, the excellence award winner receives 30 million KRW, and the merit award winner receives 20 million KRW. Additional points are also given when applying to participate in 'Launchpad' and the Korean Pavilion at overseas markets. Launchpad is a program that supports networking and commercialization with overseas companies.
F&SHoldings, the grand prize winner last year, immediately signed a business agreement for joint research on fashion technology with Digital Hollywood. Based on this, in April, they successfully launched 'Pasker,' a fashion metaverse mall platform targeting the global MZ generation, in Japan, Vietnam, and other countries. Cho Hyun-rae, president of the Korea Creative Content Agency, said, "Battlefield is a stage where domestic content startups can be recognized for their growth potential and leap into the world," and promised, "This year as well, we will invite many overseas investors and leading companies to build a global network."
