Bitnine Launches Relational DB 'AgensSQL Enterprise'
Database (DB) specialist company Bitnine is targeting the relational DBMS (Database Management System) market.
On the 19th, Bitnine announced the launch of ‘AgensSQL Enterprise.’ AgensSQL is Bitnine’s flagship product and is a relational DBMS similar to Oracle and Tibero.
AgensSQL Enterprise fully supports compatibility with Oracle, the market leader in DBMS market share. Its most notable feature is the ability to migrate data and applications from the Oracle environment and use them as is.
DBAs (Database Administrators) and developers familiar with Oracle’s syntax and functions such as PL and SQL can handle their tasks using their existing work environment and knowledge. It also includes core DBMS features such as management and monitoring tools, security, and high availability (HA).
A Bitnine representative stated, “AgensSQL Enterprise, which maximizes Oracle compatibility, is expected to have high market potential as it can directly absorb the customer base of existing enterprise DBMSs like Oracle. We will continue to strengthen our relational DB product capabilities and expand our DBMS market share.”
They added, “Along with compatibility, excellent development capabilities, technical support services, and especially cost reduction, it will be a unique product. We expect it to play a significant role in the existing open-source DBMS market through this competitively priced new product.”
