2023 Disabled Media Content Contest Registration "Open to All Citizens"
Video Submissions in 4 Categories Until September 19
15 Outstanding Works to Be Awarded at Year-End Ceremony
The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 18th that it will hold the "2023 Disabled Media Content Contest" together with the Viewer Media Foundation, and that submissions will be accepted until September 19.
Held for the second time this year, the contest's slogan is "A Media World Where People with and without Disabilities Walk Together." The awards are divided into three categories for works (Disability Theme, Disability Broadcasting Theme, Disability Production) and a special category for short-form videos. Anyone in the nation can submit entries through the Foundation's website (www.kcmf.or.kr). Among the submissions, 15 works demonstrating creativity and challenge, directing and planning skills, and production completeness will be selected and awarded. The general public can also participate in the judging process by voting through the Foundation's website or the National Idea Box (https://www.epeople.go.kr/idea/).

The award ceremony will be held during the Disability Awareness Week commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3). The winning works will be used as online and offline promotional materials to raise public awareness about disabilities. Kim Hyo-jae, Acting Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, said, "We hope this contest will be an opportunity for people with and without disabilities to communicate through media," and added, "We look forward to discovering excellent content through the active participation of the public."
