Police Award Certificate to Lee Cheon-su for Apprehending Drunk Hit-and-Run Suspect
Former football player Lee Cheon-su and his manager were awarded a police commendation for apprehending a hit-and-run driver who fled after causing a drunk driving accident on Olympic-daero.
On the 17th at around 2 p.m., the Dongjak Police Station in Seoul announced that they presented a commendation and a reward for the arrest to former player Lee and his manager Ji Byeong-ju. On the 4th, Lee and Ji helped chase and capture a man in his 40s, Mr. A, who caused a traffic accident on Olympic-daero, got out of his car, and ran about 1 km to escape.
It was confirmed that Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration at the time of the crime was at a level warranting license cancellation due to severe intoxication.
Former player Lee said, "Upon hearing from the victim that help was needed, I thought as a citizen I should assist, so I chased and caught the hit-and-run driver together with my manager. It was an honor to be able to help the victim and the police."
