Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Park Hee-young) began full-scale cleaning on the 17th at 1:30 PM in preparation for the reopening of Jamsugyo Bridge, as the water level dropped to 6.37m at 1 PM.
In the morning, floating debris accumulated on the longitudinal slope passage (arched) was removed in the first phase, and as the water level gradually lowered, the remaining areas were also cleaned.
The district deployed 32 cleaning workers to collect floating debris such as branches accumulated on railings and roads. Four water cleaning vehicles were mobilized to wash away soil and other materials.
A district official stated, "This cleaning is expected to take 4 to 5 hours, so we anticipate completion before 6 PM."
The cleaning area managed by the district on Jamsugyo Bridge extends approximately 400 meters from Seobinggo Underpass to Pier No. 23.
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, "We thank all those involved who have diligently carried out the cleaning work ahead of the reopening to alleviate residents' inconvenience."
Even after the water level drops, Jamsugyo Bridge may be controlled depending on road conditions and the discharge volume from Paldang Dam in Hanam, Gyeonggi-do. Vehicle control level is 6.2m, and pedestrian control level is 5.5m.
Traffic control status can be checked on the Seoul City Traffic Information System website.
