Damyang-gun Successfully Concludes 'Communication Administration with Residents' Policy Proposal Contest
This Year’s Adoption Rate at 20.9%, Actively Reflecting Residents’ Demands in Policy Making
On the 17th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the first half policy proposal contest held to realize "communication administration with the residents" was successfully concluded.
In this year's first half contest, both the number of proposals submitted and the adoption rate increased simultaneously, confirming the heightened interest in the 8th elected administration and the significance of communication administration.
The contest was held for 22 days from April 10 to May 1.
The contest theme was policy ideas to realize the 8th elected administration's county government policies.
The submitted policy proposals undergo a first adoption review by the responsible department, followed by a second review and final evaluation by the proposal review committee to determine the contest winners.
In this year's first half contest, a total of 165 policy proposals were submitted, an increase of approximately 44.7% compared to the first half of last year.
Excluding 41 proposals that were either already implemented or outside the jurisdiction of the local government, 124 proposals were reviewed, and a total of 26 proposals were adopted.
The adoption rate for this first half was 20.9%, a 161% increase compared to the first half of last year (adoption rate 8%).
Additionally, as a result of the proposal review committee's evaluation, 10 excellent proposals from public officials were selected, including "Making a Safe Bridge at Gwanbangjerim."
From public proposals, 8 excellent proposals were chosen, including "Improvement of Unreasonable Contents in Large Waste Disposal Fees."

County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, "Through this policy proposal contest, we confirmed the residents' high interest and expectations for the 8th elected administration," and added, "I hope the relevant departments will faithfully implement the adopted proposals in line with our county government's policy of 'communication administration with the residents.'"
