Ministry of the Interior and Safety Provides 10.65 Billion KRW Support to 11 Local Governments Affected by Heavy Rain
Disaster and Safety Special Tax Allocation for Chungbuk, Chungnam, and Gyeongbuk
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will provide emergency support to 11 local governments affected by heavy rains in Chungbuk, Chungnam, Gyeongbuk, and other areas.
On the 17th, the Ministry announced, "We will urgently provide 10.65 billion KRW in special disaster safety grants to regions severely damaged by the ongoing heavy rains."
This support was decided to enable the rapid emergency recovery of 11 local governments, including Chungbuk, Chungnam, and Gyeongbuk, which suffered damage such as landslides on road slopes, road damage, and river flooding due to the heavy rains.
The grants will be used for emergency recovery to prevent secondary damage, such as debris removal from damaged facilities and urgent safety measures, as well as relief for disaster victims.
The 11 local governments receiving support are Busan, Daejeon, Sejong, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.

Vice Minister Han Chang-seop urged local governments to "swiftly carry out emergency recovery and relief for disaster victims to ensure the safety of residents in the affected areas and minimize inconvenience," adding, "The Ministry of the Interior and Safety also plans to fully support the restoration of damaged facilities in cooperation with local governments."
