The original name of the Colic Companies Championship was the Senior Players Championship. From this year, the name was changed to reflect the title sponsor company. The winner is granted an entry to next year’s PGA Tour ‘fifth major,’ The Players Championship.
Steve Stricker (USA) lowered his score by 4 strokes to win by 3 strokes (11 under par, 269 strokes). This is his 5th win of the Champions Tour season and 16th career win, with a prize of $525,000 (approximately 660 million KRW). Among his 5 wins this year, 3 were major tournaments. Winning 3 majors in one season is the first time in 6 years since Bernhard Langer (Germany) in 2017. Stricker exclaimed, "This victory is even more special to me because it was a tournament with a spot for The Players Championship," and added, "I’m excited to return to TPC Sawgrass."
