View original imageSongpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) has been continuously maintaining the district office environment, which serves as the starting point of ‘Serving Administration’ during the first year of the 8th local government, providing residents with improved appearances along with high-quality civil administrative services, and striving to enhance administrative trust.
District Mayor Seo Gang-seok stated, “Songpa-gu has focused on serving administration under the vision of ‘Songpa, a premium city serving residents as owners’ during the 8th local government, including the establishment of the Civil Service Administration Division and the nation’s first one-stop service for permit-related civil affairs. Alongside this, we have undertaken continuous environmental maintenance to provide a pleasant and efficient district office environment to increase resident satisfaction and gain administrative trust.”
The area where the district focused most during the environmental maintenance was the civil service office. Located on the 2nd floor, the civil service office is a space visited by an average of 1,300 people daily for various permits and passport issuance.
Accordingly, the space was rearranged so that residents can efficiently receive various civil services in one place. Following the organizational restructuring in October last year, the newly separated Passport Division from the Civil Service and Passport Division was placed together with the Civil Service Administration Division to enhance resident convenience.
Additionally, the district improved all shared spaces with residents, including rearranging waiting chairs in the 1st-floor lobby, replacing old elevators, upgrading the 3rd-floor meeting rooms and 4th-floor auditorium facilities, and refurbishing the 6th-floor gymnasium, considering even minor inconveniences.
In particular, the lawn plaza in front of Songpa District Office, responsible for the office’s first impression, was newly renovated and has received positive responses. For the past three years, this area served as a waiting space for the COVID-19 screening clinic instead of landscaping facilities.
After the pandemic, the district planted fresh green grass and seasonal flowers and trees to create a green and beautiful environment throughout the four seasons, transforming the space into a spot where visitors take commemorative photos.
Moreover, in response to the increase in visitors, efforts were made to alleviate residents’ passage inconveniences by repainting the wooden arcade at the entrance, expanding the wooden deck, and replacing the outdated parking control system.
