Muan County Council Concludes 288th Extraordinary Session... Processes 17 Items Including Supplementary Budget
The Muan County Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun) announced on the 14th that it concluded the 288th extraordinary session, which was held for eight days from the 7th, with the 2nd plenary session as the final meeting.
During this extraordinary session, a total of 17 agenda items were finalized, including five ordinances proposed by council members and 12 ordinances and consent items submitted by the executive branch.
In the main review conducted by the Budget and Accounts Special Committee the previous day, the supplementary budget was thoroughly examined, and the 2023 second supplementary budget was amended and approved at 818.6 billion KRW, an increase of 118.4 billion KRW (16.9%) compared to the original budget.
In particular, the Muan County Council formed a Special Committee on Population Decline Measures to prepare long-term, comprehensive, and effective countermeasures in response to the emerging need for policies addressing local depopulation, aging, and population outflow.
Im Dong-hyun, the vice chairman, was appointed as the chairman, and Im Yoon-taek, the chair of the Administrative, Cultural, and Welfare Committee, was appointed as the secretary. The term lasts until June 30, 2026.
Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun said, “I would like to express my gratitude to my fellow council members who made their best efforts to achieve the intended results during the extraordinary session,” and added, “I sincerely comfort and encourage the public officials of the executive branch who actively cooperated with the legislative schedule.”
