"Busy Even on Fridays"... Hotels Capture Weekday Wedding Demand
Andaz Seoul, Weekday Weddings Triple Compared to Last Year
Impact of Reservation Rush and Flexible Work System Introduction
Active Launch of 'Weekday Wedding Package'
Unlike past weddings that were generally held on weekends, more engaged couples are recently choosing weekday weddings. Since the endemic (periodic outbreak of infectious diseases), wedding demand has exploded, and weekend reservations are already fully booked through the second half of next year. Additionally, as companies are increasingly adopting flexible and elastic work systems, more people can attend weddings regardless of working hours.

In particular, the demand for weddings on Friday afternoons, which guests can attend after work, has significantly increased. During the same period, Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul also saw weekday reservations increase by 1.5 times compared to the previous year, and the Shilla Hotel Seoul has already fully booked Friday afternoon wedding reservations through the first half of next year.
The increase in weekday wedding demand is attributed to the ‘wedding reservation frenzy’ that began with the endemic, the adoption of flexible and elastic work systems, and high inflation. Wedding demand, which was suppressed during the COVID-19 period, has exploded, making it difficult to book weekends through the second half of next year. Moreover, with various work styles introduced, more guests can attend weddings without being restricted by working hours. Also, due to high inflation, more engaged couples feeling the financial burden of wedding costs are considering weekday weddings, which are available at lower prices than weekends.
An Andaz hotel official said, "Since Andaz Hotel is located in a company-dense area, it is convenient to host guests after work, so there is considerable demand for Friday afternoon weddings," adding, "Recently, since weekend wedding reservations are very difficult to secure, many people are looking for weekday weddings as an alternative."
