Geumcheon District Residents Donate Scholarships for Future Talent Development
Geumcheon-gu, Continuous Donations of Scholarships for Fostering Future Talents
Despite the economic downturn, donations of scholarships to the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation continue to come in, asking that they be used to nurture local talents.
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 13th that the Geumcheon Future Talent Development Pan-Citizen Promotion Committee donated scholarships.
The Geumcheon Future Talent Development Pan-Citizen Promotion Committee was launched in May to promote local educational development and activate the scholarship projects of the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation. In June, they held meetings by district to explore the direction the scholarship foundation should take.
The donation ceremony was held in the small conference room of Geumcheon-gu Office, attended by Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, Park Joon-sik, Chairman of the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation, Song Jin-seop, Committee Member of Siheung 2-dong from the Pan-Citizen Committee, Choi Byung-tae, Chairman of Siheung 3-dong, and six others.
Song Jin-seop, Committee Member of Siheung 2-dong from the Pan-Citizen Committee, donated 3 million KRW in scholarships, stating, “I believe improving educational conditions is important for the future of our district’s children, which is why I decided to support this cause.”
Choi Byung-tae, Chairman of Siheung 3-dong from the Pan-Citizen Committee, also donated 3 million KRW, saying, “I hope this scholarship can help our district’s youth grow with dreams and hope, even if just a little.”
Park Joon-sik, Chairman of the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation, expressed gratitude to the donors and said, “We will ensure that the scholarships are used meaningfully to help our students realize their dreams.”

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “I believe residents’ participation is most important for the development of education in Geumcheon-gu, and the district will continue to strive to improve educational welfare for youth.”
