Gurye-gun Selected as Best Institution for Local Price Stability Management
Secured 150 Million Won in Special Financial Incentive Grants
Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it was selected as the best institution in the city/county category in the ‘2023 First Half Local Price Stability Management Performance Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing a special grant of 150 million KRW.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety comprehensively evaluated a total of six categories, including quantitative indicators such as local public utility fee stability management and support for fair price businesses, and qualitative indicators such as fostering a price stability atmosphere and implementing special policies, targeting 243 local governments nationwide.
Gurye-gun made significant efforts to manage price stability through freezing local public utility fees, conducting joint public-private promotional activities to foster participation in price stabilization, holding price countermeasure committees and working-level committees, and regular on-site price monitoring.
In particular, the county focused on revitalizing the depressed local commercial district through various special policies such as a permanent 10% discount on Gurye Sarang Gift Certificates, interest subsidy support projects for small business owners, and small business management environment improvement projects. These efforts received high praise.
County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “I am pleased that the various efforts we have promoted for residents struggling with high interest rates and high prices have been well evaluated,” and added, “We will continue to work harder to stabilize prices and revitalize the local economy.”
