Police Conduct Second Investigation of Former Lawmaker Kim Jong-dae Over Alleged Cheongong Intervention
Reinvestigation After 6 Months
The police conducted a second investigation on the 12th into former Justice Party lawmaker Kim Jong-dae, who raised suspicions that the fortune teller Cheongong was involved in the relocation of the presidential residence.
The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned former lawmaker Kim as a suspect on the same day in the morning on charges of defamation. This came six months after the first investigation on January 4.
In December last year, former lawmaker Kim appeared on TBS Radio's "Kim Eo-jun's News Factory" and raised suspicions, saying, "I heard testimony from a senior official at the Ministry of National Defense that 'Cheongong visited the Army Chief of Staff's residence and Seoul office in March 2022.'"
