Police Investigate The Class Hyosung for Selling Defective Benz at Regular Price
The police have launched an investigation into The Class Hyosung, an official Mercedes-Benz dealer, for selling defective Mercedes-Benz vehicles at normal prices.
On the 12th, the Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they are investigating three sales staff members of The Class Hyosung on charges of fraud and forgery of private documents.
The Class Hyosung is suspected of selling vehicles to consumers at regular prices despite being notified by Mercedes-Benz Korea that the vehicles had defects and should be sold at discounted prices. The Class Hyosung is one of the dealers that receive vehicles from Mercedes-Benz Korea and sell them to consumers.
In this process, the three sales staff members are accused of manipulating documents sent to Mercedes-Benz Korea to make it appear as though the defective vehicles were sold at discounted prices, while actually selling them at full price.
