Yeonggwang-gun Installs 'Glow-in-the-Dark Basic Number Plates' on Park Walking Trails and More
Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jong-man) announced on the 12th that they have installed luminous and high-intensity reflective basic number plates on alleyways in densely populated residential areas of Yeonggwang-eup, Mulmusan Happy Forest, and walking trails in the Sports Park to enhance convenience in location finding using road name addresses and to enable rapid emergency medical and rescue services in case of emergencies.
Basic number plates refer to road name address guidance facilities that can be installed in necessary locations for the purpose of providing road name address information and supporting emergency medical and rescue activities.

This pilot project for creating moonlight safety streets in residential areas and walking trails was carried out from May 11 to June 28, installing the plates on 703 facilities including streetlights, security lights, and reflectors, providing location information through road name address notation.
At Mulmusan Happy Forest, the plates were installed with luminous materials, making them easy to find at night and expected to assist in rapid emergency medical and rescue responses.
In the park walking trails and alleyways in densely populated residential areas, the use of reflective materials for installation is expected to improve convenience in location finding and enhance safety by preventing crimes against residents returning home late at night.
Additionally, by providing a voice guidance service using QR codes and an SOS One-Stop reporting service that allows text message reporting in emergencies, socially vulnerable individuals who cannot speak or have difficulty communicating during accidents can easily request emergency medical and rescue assistance.
A county official stated, “We plan to expand the installation of basic number plates along walking trails such as Mulmusan Happy Forest and roadside areas. We ask residents to actively use the fast and convenient road name address guidance facilities installed nearby in case of emergencies.”
