According to the police, from the 9th to the 16th of last month, Mr. A confined two women in vehicles and officetels in Seoul and the Gyeonggi area, seizing 15 million KRW in cash and credit cards, and used the credit cards to spend about 20 million KRW.
Police investigations revealed that Mr. A approached the women by saying things like "My family is a well-known household from Chungcheong Province" and "My business has substantial sales." In particular, Mr. A pretended to be a chaebol by dressing his entire body in luxury brands and driving borrowed foreign cars.
After building relationships with the women, Mr. A threatened them with reasons such as "Your fault caused the car to break down. Give me the repair costs," confined them at their residences, and extorted money.
Luxury goods worth 20 million won were found at Mr. A's house and all were confiscated.
