Goheung-gun Provides Up to 3 Million KRW Support for Electric Motorcycle Purchases

Small Business Owners, Vulnerable Groups, and Locally Produced Products Receive Additional Support

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will promote the 2023 electric two-wheeler private distribution project to improve air quality and create a pleasant living environment by reducing pollutants generated during the operation of two-wheelers.

The supply volume is a total of 50 units: 40 general units, 5 units for vulnerable groups, and 5 units for delivery use. The project budget is about 100 million KRW, and applications will be accepted until the budget is exhausted. Individuals and sole proprietors can apply for one unit, while corporations and institutions can apply for up to three units.

Eligibility requires applicants to be residents of Gohung-gun for at least 90 days prior to the purchase support application date, aged 16 or older, including individual business owners, companies, and institutions or corporations.

Purchase subsidies vary by vehicle type, with support up to a maximum of 3 million KRW. An additional 200,000 KRW is provided when purchasing after scrapping an internal combustion engine two-wheeler, and small business owners and vulnerable groups (persons with disabilities, low-income households) receive an additional 10% of the national subsidy amount for the vehicle.

Furthermore, an additional 480,000 KRW is provided when purchasing products manufactured within Jeollanam-do.

The vehicle types eligible for subsidies can be confirmed on the Ministry of Environment’s Zero-Emission Vehicle integrated website. Citizens and individual business owners wishing to receive subsidies should consult with electric two-wheeler manufacturers and sellers, complete the application form, and submit it to the manufacturer or seller.

A county official stated, “Since this subsidy support project is being promoted to improve air quality and reduce noise, we ask for active participation from citizens and businesspeople in this electric two-wheeler private distribution project.”
