First Female Candidate Passes 'Kingsanjik' Hyundai Motor Production Job Open Recruitment

Applicants Flock to Open Recruitment After 10 Years
Hyundai Motor Company has produced female successful candidates for the first time in its history through the public recruitment of production (technical) positions conducted for the first time in 10 years.
According to the industry on the 10th, Hyundai Motor recently completed the recruitment of 200 successful candidates for the first half of 2023 technical positions and announced the results. Among them, excluding 15 research positions at Namyang Research Center, there were 6 female successful candidates out of 185 technical positions.
Regarding this, the Korean Metal Workers' Union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions stated in an official statement, "This new recruitment is the first time since the company's founding that the door to technical positions has been opened to female workers," and "We extend a welcome to all successful workers, including the 6 women who joined through the public recruitment for the first time."
Hyundai Motor conducted a public recruitment for new technical employees for the first time in 10 years in March. The so-called 'Kingsan-jik' (the king of production positions) Hyundai technical recruitment attracted tremendous interest, with so many applicants that the website was paralyzed on the first day of document submission. There were even unconfirmed reports that the number of applicants exceeded 180,000.
Hyundai Motor's production positions earned the nickname 'Kingsan-jik' due to high salaries averaging 100 million KRW, a retirement age of 60, and various welfare benefits such as vehicle discounts. Hyundai Motor did not disclose the exact number of applicants for this production position public recruitment.

According to a labor-management agreement, Hyundai Motor plans to newly hire a total of 700 technical positions, including 400 this year and 300 next year, and recruited 200 this time.
