Yeongam-gun Receives Ministry of Health and Welfare's Best Institution Award for Health Promotion Project
Top National Evaluation for Health Promotion Plans Tailored to Local Conditions
Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) received the Best Institution Award in the comprehensive category of the Health Promotion Project at the '2023 National Local Government Joint Performance Conference' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
According to the county on the 10th, Yeongam-gun Public Health Center ranked first among 228 local governments nationwide and first among 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do in the '15th Community Integrated Health Promotion Project Plan Evaluation.'
Yeongam-gun received the Best Institution Award in the Comprehensive Health Promotion Project category at the '2023 National Local Government Joint Performance Conference' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Yeongam-gun reflected the health, welfare, and health needs of its residents based on an analysis of the community status and health survey results in the submitted plan.
Additionally, to support the healthy lifestyle practices of Yeongam residents, the plan included services that visit living spaces and age-specific customized integrated health promotion programs.
Furthermore, the county received favorable evaluations from the Ministry of Health and Welfare by adding substantial policies such as establishing a cooperative system for health with local industrial complexes, workplaces, and universities.
As of July, according to this plan, Yeongam-gun Public Health Center is implementing various new projects. Programs such as smoking cessation clinics, mobile healthcare, prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and obesity, traditional Korean medicine health promotion, and rehabilitation for the disabled are being carried out in cooperation with local universities and companies, receiving great responses from residents.
