Gominjeong: "Choo Mi-ae, No Matter What, a Senior Party Member... Will Not Apply for Gwangjin-eul Nomination"
Former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae is rumored to return to her original constituency, Gwangjin-eul, in next year's general election. However, Go Min-jung, a member of the Democratic Party currently representing Gwangjin-eul, predicted that Choo will not apply for the party nomination in Gwangjin-eul.
On the 10th, Go said on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' "Because, no matter what, (former Minister Choo) is a senior member of the party," expressing this view.

Since Choo served five terms only in Gwangjin-eul, her return is not impossible if she runs in next year's election.
However, Go said, "Honestly, I don't see that possibility as very high," adding, "She is someone accustomed to drawing a nationwide picture of how the Democratic Party can implement a winning strategy and how to position players because she served as party leader."
When asked by the host whether "former Minister Choo receiving the Democratic Party's nomination and running would be unfavorable for the overall Democratic Party general election landscape," Go replied, "That's not the case," and said, "Since former Minister Choo has served as party leader before, she will consider where it is appropriate for her to stand within the bigger picture."

Nevertheless, Go added, "As a politician, all possibilities should naturally be kept open," and said, "However, it is not yet decided which player from the People Power Party will run. There are talks about Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon, former lawmaker Oh Shin-hwan, strategic candidates, former lawmaker Yoon Hee-sook, and several others mentioned. Therefore, for me, whether someone from our party runs in a primary is not very important."
