Gangseo-gu, Seoul, held the '21st Gyeomjae Art Competition Awards Ceremony' at 11 a.m. on the 7th at the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum.
The ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Park Young-jae, Director of Administrative Management Bureau of Gangseo-gu Office, Kim Jin-ho, Director of Gangseo Cultural Center, and local cultural and artistic figures, adding luster to the event.
The ceremony proceeded in the order of ▲ competition progress report ▲ awards ceremony ▲ ribbon cutting ▲ artwork viewing.
A total of 211 works were submitted to this Gyeomjae Art Competition, and 88 works were selected as award winners, including Grand Prize (1), Excellence Award (1), Outstanding Award (2), Encouragement Award (5), Special Selection, and Honorable Mention.
The Grand Prize was awarded to Kim Rae-hyun’s work, 'A Very Warm Song.' Lee Mi-young’s 'Island' received the Excellence Award.
The Outstanding Awards went to Lee Kwang-yong’s 'Flower Garden' and Jeon Si-kyung’s 'Another Thought,' respectively.
The Encouragement Awards were given to Park Eung-joo’s 'Winter Sleep, Spring Dream,' Park Joo-kyung’s 'Remaining Snow at Molundae,' Noh Young-jun’s 'European Trip,' Park Hyun-joo’s 'Only Longing Piles Up,' and Cha Soo-jung’s 'Majestic,' respectively.
The awardees received certificates and a total prize money of 27 million KRW, including 10 million KRW for the Grand Prize.
A district official said, “We deeply thank all the artists who submitted works to this competition and congratulate the winners. The Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum exhibits excellent works that inherit the tradition of true-view landscape painting and embody Gyeomjae’s artistic spirit, so we hope many people will visit and share the inspiration.”

Meanwhile, the awarded works will be exhibited on the first floor of the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum until the 26th.
