Namwon-si Selected as 'Best Institution' at Local Government Joint Performance Conference

Namwon City, Jeollabuk-do (Mayor Choi Kyung-sik) announced on the 7th that it was selected as the nationwide best institution in the comprehensive category of the Integrated Health Promotion Project at the 2023 Local Government Joint Performance Conference and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation.

Considering that all health personnel were deployed for COVID-19 response over the past three years, making it difficult to promote the Integrated Health Promotion Project, the Ministry of Health and Welfare temporarily suspended evaluations but resumed them in 2023 with the goal of normalizing the project by evaluating the 2022 best cases and the 2023 project plans.

Namwon City was selected as the best institution nationwide in the comprehensive category of the Integrated Health Promotion Project at the Joint Performance Conference of Local Governments.

The city achieved the great feat of being selected as the nationwide best institution in the comprehensive category by evaluating the 2023 project plans.

The Integrated Health Promotion Project integrates 13 health projects such as smoking cessation, alcohol moderation, and home-visit health care, eliminating boundaries between project areas, analyzing community health issues and residents' needs, and providing health promotion services.

The city received high praise for analyzing the region's health level using various data and establishing an efficient project plan by linking and cooperating with internal and external resources based on this analysis.

Han Yong-jae, Director of Namwon City Health Center, said, “We will continue to promote differentiated integrated health promotion projects that reflect health issues and do our best to help citizens return to a healthy life after COVID-19 by utilizing the know-how of non-face-to-face health promotion projects gained during the COVID-19 response process.”
