Gwangju Nam-gu Career Experience Support Center, Popular Among Teenagers
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is operating a Youth Career Experience Support Center to nurture future creative talents, and the career exploration and job experience programs showcased at this center have been capturing the hearts of local youth.
According to Nam-gu on the 7th, the Youth Career Experience Support Center is operated to provide various experiential activities and learning opportunities to middle and high school students as well as students from special schools in the district, aiming to cultivate self-directed future talents through career exploration and job experience.
Nam-gu operates the Youth Career Experience Support Center in cooperation with the entrusted organization, the Korea Youth and Family Welfare Counseling Association.
The Youth Experience Support Center runs 5 career exploration support programs and 8 career linkage support programs targeted at youth.
Additionally, various career network support programs such as the Career Teachers' Council are operated for school career teachers.
From January 1 to June 30, a total of 5,113 students from 41 schools participated in programs through the Youth Career Experience Support Center, including job experiences, mentoring by professional workers, career assessments, free semester system, and 4th industrial revolution education.
Among the career exploration support programs, the most popular were job experience, 4th industrial revolution experience, career camps, and mentoring by professional workers, while in the career linkage support field, the free semester system program, which supports self-development activities during the semester, was the most favored.
In particular, reflecting the current trend where the 4th industrial revolution is gaining attention, experiences such as coding, drones, metaverse, IT platform startups, and YouTube creators received enthusiastic responses among students.
