KOSHA Shares Government Policy and Diagnostic Best Practices
The Ministry of Employment and Labor (Minister Lee Jeong-sik) and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Chairman Ahn Jong-joo) held a seminar titled "The Role and Development Direction of Safety and Health Diagnosis for the Prevention of Serious Accidents" at 10 a.m. on the 6th at KINTEX in Ilsan to mark the "2023 Industrial Safety and Health Month."
Safety and health diagnosis is a system in which specialized institutions investigate and evaluate various hazardous processes and equipment to identify potential hazards and risks and establish improvement measures.
This seminar was held at a time when a paradigm shift in industrial safety and health is taking place, following the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act in January last year and the establishment and announcement of the Serious Accident Reduction Roadmap (November 2022).
It was organized to discuss the role of safety and health diagnosis as a key tool for preventing industrial accidents and its future development direction with various stakeholders, including specialized institutions, academia, and workplaces.
A seminar addressing the development direction of safety and health inspections for the prevention of serious accidents is underway.
