Clean Beach 'Sinji Myeongsashipri Beach' Opens on the 8th

Marine Healing Program, Free Trial Classes for Water Leisure Sports

Shinji Myeongsasipri Beach, renowned as the best vacation spot on the southern coast for its silvery fine sand, clean sea, and beautiful surrounding scenery, will open on the 8th and operate for 44 days until the 20th of next month.

According to Wando County on the 7th, Shinji Myeongsasipri Beach was selected as one of the ‘Top 3 Excellent Beaches’ in the evaluation of 277 beaches nationwide conducted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in 2020. It was the first in Korea to receive the international certification ‘Blue Flag,’ awarded to eco-friendly and safe beaches, and has successfully maintained this certification for five consecutive years including this year.

In particular, it is a place where oxygen anions, known as vitamins in the air, are abundant?up to 50 times that of large cities?and operates a marine healing program that promotes health by utilizing the clean marine environment and marine resources.

Marine healing programs such as beach Nordic walking and meditation are operated year-round, so if you want to heal your tired body and mind, it is highly recommended to participate in these programs.

Following last year, a free water leisure sports experience class offering activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding will be held from the 8th of this month to the 13th of next month. Applications for the free water leisure sports experience will be accepted on-site.

The county is preparing to open a marine healing center being developed around Shinji Myeongsasipri, and with the lifting of COVID-19 social distancing measures, it expects an increase in beach visitors. To ensure safety, it is hiring safety personnel with professional qualifications such as lifeguard certifications and is making every effort to secure safety.

During the opening period, a comprehensive control room will be operated in cooperation with the Wando Coast Guard, Wando Fire Station, Wando Police Station, and Wando County Health and Medical Center to prepare for emergencies such as safety accidents and the appearance of harmful marine creatures.

Additionally, to provide convenience to visitors and create a pleasant environment, efforts are being made to maintain facilities such as restrooms, showers, and deck paths. Various sports events will also be held during the beach opening period.

A CrossFit competition will be held over two days from the 8th to the 9th, and the Wando County Jangbogo Cup Beach Volleyball Tournament will take place from the 29th to the 30th.
