Ulsan Office of Education, Top Nationwide Fiscal Execution Rate in the First Half of the Year
Securing 1 Billion KRW in Performance Bonuses for 3 Consecutive Years
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education exceeded the Ministry of Education's consumption and investment fiscal execution targets for the first half of the year, securing 1 billion KRW in performance bonuses from the Ministry of Education for three consecutive years.
They executed 662.7 billion KRW, surpassing the Ministry of Education's 1st and 2nd quarter consumption and investment target of 607.6 billion KRW by 51.1 billion KRW (9.1 percentage points), ranking second nationwide and placing in the top tier.
To exceed the fiscal execution targets by sector, the Ulsan Office of Education implemented ▲ improvements in budget allocation methods for facility project expenses ▲ full utilization of customized welfare expenses ▲ prompt execution of various construction costs such as advance payments, progress payments, and completion payments ▲ and advance procurement of goods and equipment.
They also formed the ‘Ulsan Education Fiscal Execution Management Inspection Team,’ led by Deputy Superintendent Choi Seong-bu, which operated on a weekly basis by institution (department) to monitor fiscal execution status. Additionally, projects facing difficulties in fiscal execution were encouraged to proceed swiftly through consultations and identification of system improvement tasks.
An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, “We will maintain a continuous inspection system in the second half of the year to lead the revitalization of the local economy through prompt fiscal execution. We will also continue to promote system improvements and strive to efficiently utilize limited resources through interdepartmental collaboration.”

From 2021 to 2022, the Ulsan Office of Education also secured a total of 18 billion KRW in performance bonuses (incentives) over two years, including 1 billion KRW in the first half and 8 billion KRW in the second half each year, due to its top-tier nationwide fiscal execution performance.
