Pulmuone Launches 'Kalguksu Kimchi'... Establishes Pairing Kimchi Lineup
Pulmuone Foods announced on the 7th the launch of "Kalguksu Kimchi," a kimchi filled with a sharp and spicy seasoning that tastes best when eaten with kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup).
Pulmuone has established a new "Pairing Kimchi" lineup based on the perspective that different types of kimchi are needed depending on the main dish being eaten together, and plans to introduce various new products in the future.
The kimchi currently sold in supermarkets mostly consists of general packaged kimchi products with similar flavors, which do not fully reflect the main dishes or situations consumers eat them with. Considering this, Pulmuone decided to expand the Pairing Kimchi lineup so that households can enjoy kimchi that complements their cooking.
The new Kalguksu Kimchi is Pulmuone’s first pairing kimchi, replicating the spicy flavor emphasized in kalguksu specialty restaurants. It was developed with careful consideration of the spiciness, saltiness, ingredients, fermentation level, and size of the kimchi that consumers desire when eating kalguksu.

Kalguksu Kimchi features a spicy and sharp seasoning that pairs best with the mild broth of kalguksu. To make it easy to eat with kalguksu, the napa cabbage is cut into bite-sized pieces and mixed with coarse red pepper powder and chili seeds, replicating the kimchi style of kalguksu specialty restaurants. The main ingredients such as napa cabbage, garlic, and chili peppers are 100% domestically sourced, ensuring safe and delicious enjoyment. Additionally, thanks to the deliciously spicy seasoning with sharp garlic, it pairs well not only with kalguksu but also with boiled pork slices (suyuk), hand-pulled dough soup (sujebi), and as a side dish.
