'1st Anniversary of Opening' Gwangju Seo-gu Council "Repaying with Open Governance"
The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City held a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the opening of the 9th council, reflecting on its achievements so far and pledging to carry out citizen-centered legislative activities.
The 13 members of the 9th Seo-gu Council announced on the 6th that they have carried out various legislative activities and field-centered council activities over the past year for the development of Seo-gu and the well-being of its residents.
Since its opening last year, the Seo-gu Council has held a total of 9 sessions over 128 days, including 3 regular sessions and 6 extraordinary sessions, handling a total of 164 agenda items such as 56 ordinances and regulations, 23 proposals and resolutions, and 11 budget and settlement plans.
It is evaluated that the council has made efforts to fulfill its role as a decision-making body while promoting various policies reflecting the voices of the residents.
Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae expressed, “I thank the residents of Seo-gu who have trusted and supported the Seo-gu Council. Going forward, the Seo-gu Council will do its best to listen carefully to the residents’ wishes through communication and attentive listening based on principles and sincerity, and to carry out practical politics for the residents.”
