Two Persons in Charge Booked in Connection with Lift Crushing Accident at Gwangju Apartment Construction Site
The police have booked two site managers from the construction company in connection with the death of a worker in his 50s who was crushed by a freight lift (hoist car) at a new apartment construction site in Gwangju.
The Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced on the 6th that they have booked A, the site manager, and B, the site safety manager, of the construction company on suspicion of causing death by occupational negligence at the construction site.
They are suspected of failing to fulfill safety obligations at a new apartment construction site in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 1:40 p.m. on the 11th of last month, resulting in the death of worker C (58), who was crushed by a construction lift (hoist car).
At the time of the accident, Mr. C was found two hours after being crushed by a construction lift that had fallen while he was installing automation equipment for a freight elevator.
