Jo Eung-cheon "Chu Mi-ae, 'Takran Politics'... Will Join Hands with Cho Kuk"
"Hardline Supporters Trying to Bring Their Own Supporters"
"Bipartisan Alternative New Party Has No Own Scoring Points"
Democratic Party lawmaker Cho Eung-cheon criticized former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae, who is blaming former President Moon Jae-in and former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon for the failure of prosecutorial reform by claiming they pressured her to resign, calling it "a disruptive politics aimed at courting the Democratic Party's hardline supporters."
On the 6th, Cho said on KBS's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs,' "It seems like an attempt to bring so-called hardline supporters back into her own support base."
On the 26th, Cho Eung-cheon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, attended the "Democratic Party Reflection and Innovation Continuous Forum" held at the National Assembly and presented on the topic "Reflection and Lessons from Five and a Half Years of Democratic Party Governance." View original imageFormer Minister Chu has been attacking former President Moon and former leader Lee daily, making remarks to attract hardline supporters. This is seen as a strategic move to capture the hardline faction within the Democratic Party for her political comeback, and ultimately, she is expected to join forces with former Minister Cho Kuk. This process is likened to 'brood parasitism,' where a cuckoo lays its eggs in another bird's nest and lets the host raise its young.
He explained, "(The cuckoo) lays eggs in another's nest, and the host bird, unaware that the eggs are cuckoo eggs, incubates them and feeds the chicks. Later, the cuckoo chick grows much larger and kills all the host's chicks, taking over the nest." He added, "(Former Minister Chu) does not seem to intend to engage in politics within the Democratic Party. She is even criticizing former President Moon and launching attacks on all fronts. So, I think she will eventually join hands with former Minister Cho."
Regarding former Minister Chu's comment on Lee Jae-myung's remark "Even a blank sheet is easier to lift together," made on the YouTube channel 'Maebulsyo,' where she said, "If directions differ, lifting a blank sheet together will tear it," Cho said, "Lee is in a position where he must hold onto party leadership and embrace and unify to consolidate party strength, whereas former Minister Chu emphasizes clarity and believes there is no need to align with those of different dispositions," adding, "In an already fragile situation, this will not act as a centripetal force but rather as a centrifugal force disguised as one, leading to a very chaotic situation."

Regarding reports that former lawmakers Geum Tae-seop, Jeong Tae-geun of the former Grand National Party, and Park Won-seok, former policy chief of the Justice Party, are forming a 'cross-party alternative new party,' Cho said, "It seems the initiative started as criticism of the Democratic Party. But unless they present their own platform, starting with criticism of existing ones won't make much impact," adding, "They don't seem to have many scoring points of their own, which is somewhat concerning." Park, the former policy chief, has previously drawn a line by stating there is "no possibility of participation" in the cross-party alternative new party.
